Wood blocks, prints, and letters of Julius J. Lankes [manuscript], 1920-1987.

Items in the collection include two paintings, one looking toward Mount Equinox, of Robert Frost's home, Gulley Farm, in Shaftsbury, Vermont; two wood blocks with accompanying reference prints; a print made from a woodcut used in W. R. Burnett's The Goodhues of Sinking Creek; and letters, Gardenville,N.Y. to Richard E. Fiscus discussing a bookplate Lankes designed for Fiscus and including a tiny sketch of the proposed design and a bookplate sent as an example of Lankes's work. Also included is a greeting card, Washington, D.C. 1987 December, illustrated with a copy of a Lankes painting based on Gulley Farm, sent by Madeleine Schuermann to Lankes's son, Julius Bartlett Lankes.
